Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists are regulated health professionals that provide a unique combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, and electrotherapy to help you recover from injury, illness and disability. Each physiotherapist is university educated and has extensive knowledge in assessing, diagnosing and treating your condition. Manual Therapy
Our therapists can provide you with hands-on manual therapy techniques that aim to manipulate and mobilize your soft tissue (ie. muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia etc), improve joint mobility, develop efficient movement patterns and decrease pain. Common manual therapy techniques include: deep tissue release, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, friction scar/adhesion release, joint mobilizations and on occasion joint manipulations.
Electrotherapy
Electrical modalities can also be provided in your physiotherapy session. At Elite Ortho Care we can provide Ultrasound, Laser, Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation (TENS), Interferential Current (IFC), and Neuromuscular Stimulation (NMES). Depending on the modality, electrotherapy can aid in promoting healing, improving circulation, decreasing pain and decreasing swelling.
Exercise Prescription
Along with our manual therapy techniques, our goal as therapists is to empower you to take care of your own health. Exercises are one of the best ways to do so. By providing you with comprehensive instructions on proper biomechanics, a personalized exercise program can be developed to help you regain optimal physical function. Whether you are immobile or unstable, our therapists can assess your needs and provide you with strengthening and mobility exercises to rehabilitate and prevent injury or disability.
